Bay Area Independent Publishers Association

Purpose
The Bay Area Independent Publishers Association (formerly the Marin Small Publishers Association) was founded in 1979 in the San Francisco Bay Area and incorporated as a nonprofit public benefit organization in 1981. BAIPA is an educational institution dedicated to elevating the art of the independent author-publisher. Membership consists of creative people who, under their press or business names, are involved in various aspects of publishing.

Mission
The Bay Area Independent Publishers Association is a non-profit educational organization devoted to elevating the art of publishing. We act as a liaison, clearinghouse, guide, and cheering section for those who wish to pursue independent publishing. We provide educational programs, networking, marketing opportunities, and information on industry vendors and services.

Goal
Our goal is to develop additional knowledge and expertise so that we can better assist our members in publishing, promoting and marketing their works.
