BAIPA Membership Benefits

• Provide meetings every month to exchange ideas, successes and failures, questions and answers, and enthusiasm have been the hallmark of the group since its inception. Over the years, more than 800 people have joined BAIPA, and the association has "midwifed" more than 500 books. These meetings also offer speakers on various aspects of publishing. Time is allotted for networking and sharing our successes, tips, and problems.


• Sponsor an annual day-long seminar on publishing conducted by industry experts.


• Provide representation at regional trade shows and book fairs such as the Northern California Independent Booksellers Association Trade Show and the Sonoma Book Festival.


• Offer affiliated membership in Publishers Marketing Association (PMA). PMA advances the interests of independent publishers through cooperative marketing and educational programs and publications, and acts as an advocate for the publishing industry.


• Present the Jack Mason Annual Award for outstanding contribution in the field of self-publishing to a member chosen by the Board of Directors.


• Publish a members' directory and offer occasional other activities such as book catalogs, book store signings, and social events, including a picnic.
